Education System In Pakistan Essay:

The present system of education is rotten to the core. Since the creation of Pakistan, there has always been a dream from the masses that the prevailing system of education should be overhauled. Today we are facing many educational problems.

Education System In Pakistan

First, our education is not based on Islamic principles. It is too materialistic in its outlook. The result is chaos in society. The students of today are disrespectful to their parents and elders. The present indiscipline in the schools and colleges can only br cured if the students are made familiar with the Islamic principles. We should base our education on Islamic Ideology. We should pursue western science, but we should not forget that we are Muslims. Now “Islamiat” as a subject has been made compulsory in schools and colleges.

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. – Malcolm X

Secondly, Pakistan is a developing country. We need more and more skilled persons. We need doctors, engineers, agriculturists, and technicians in all spheres of life. Education in humanities should be kept on but it should be restricted only to a few ones. This will solve the problems of unemployment to a great extent. Moreover, we will be able to get rid of foreign experts.

The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”– Dr. Seuss

Thirdly, the need for suitable books is being felt in Pakistan badly. Most of the books are foreign published. Some are published in Pakistan but they are not up to the mark. The learned men and scholars in our country must devote themselves to the writing of new books according to the level of students. History will have to re-written with special reference to the achievements of our national heroes. Modern Urdu literature should be given a place in the syllabus. Texts must have a scientific approach in them. They should preach our national ideology.

“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather make a man a more clever devil.” ― C.S. Lewis

Fourthly, the most burning questions is that of the national language. There are many languages in our country, Urdu, English, Arabic and Punjabi and money more. These languages should be developed to high standards so that these may become a suitable medium of expression. But a word of caution is necessary. We should not turn off English at once.

Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family. – Kofi Annan

Lastly, our system of examination needs a drastic change. Our examination is not a faultless test of one’s ability. Good marks and divisions in the examinations depend and cramming. A good student may fall ill and secure a poor third division; a poor student may cram a few questions or MCQs and gets a high first division. Our education should discourage cramming work. It should take all possible steps to engender the originality of thoughts and an aptitude for research work. Our education department should reshape our whole education system from the nursery to the university level.

” I never teach my pupils, I only provide the condition in which they can learn.”       _Albert Einstein
